  What a feat, and the sheer odds of having a pilot aboard who just happened to possess extracurricular gliding experience that proved instrumental in everyone's salvation! Of course the airline administration had to subject the pilots to disciplinary for their errors which could've easily proven to be fatal, but I'm sure the goodwill from the public must've been vindicating at the same time.

  I recently watched Top Gun (1986) & Maverick back to back, and because of that my mind was imagining Tom Cruise as the hotshot gliding expert who saves the day, as I was listening to the audio. 😂

  What an inspirational story! I was just fascinated by the actual news headline part of it, but I never would have guessed how it backfired on the pilots. But in any case, your take on it was full of so much wisdom and insight! I never would have thought of that life lesson from this event.

  Being of somewhat advanced age, over the span of my experiences I have had that double edged situation a few times, although not near the level of potential disaster averted. So thanks for choosing this topic, giving me the opportunity to remember. I hope to hear more stimulating and thoughtful presentations as the opportunity arises!
