Coping with Christmas - A Pep-Talk for Sufferers (SFW)
The countdown is on, it's officially two weeks away...
I know, for some of us, it can be a season of stress, a holiday from hell, a christmas cringefest that we just endure rather than enjoy.
If you're getting stressed out already, listen to my advice.
And do tell me if and when you get Whamaggeddoned!

A wonderful commentary on the holiday and how to cope! I like to see kids enjoying the fantasy before it gets spoiled for them. Otherwise I'm ambivalent on the holiday, enduring the guilt trip pushed by some family because I can't participate at the level that they do. Gifting is such a pain with the pure transactional commercialization that is 99% of the holiday! As to your Christmas movie list, only one matters and we agree that it is a marvelous movie...A Christmas Story is the only movie needed to give me relief and joy, and counteract most of the other irrations that come with the holiday! In spite of all that, I hope you have your own enjoyment of the holiday however it works for you, be happy!

I always work through the holidays and I find that this helps as I don't have too much time to overthink the pitfalls of the Christmas season as I might if I spent a couple weeks off work at home. My sector of the retail industry is pretty chill at this time of the year; not having to deal with hordes of people chasing after the hottest new electronic gizmo, the hot toy of 2024 that parents are desperate to get, or fussy people insisting that the store giftwrapping job is not 100% perfect is always a bonus! Considering my employment, with constant background Musak, it's a miracle I have not yet been Whamaggedonned!
I might watch A Christmas Story. I got it on DVD in the before-times, the same year you, me, Storm, Quincy, et. al. watched it together virtually. Family Christmas party is on the Eve, & right now I'm thinking if I should get a funny gag gift for the White Elephant party game. :P
Sorry to hear you've caught something - whatever it is I hope you bounce back quickly!
