Makes perfect sense, she did write it after all with Gerry Goffin. I absolutely love all that “golden age” pop stuff from the Brill Building and Motown. A lot of times we forget that all those amazing songs were “manufactured” by all those songwriting teams, but were still brilliant songs, except for He Hit Me (And It Felt Like a Kiss) which kinda sucks! :D
From about ‘58 to ‘69 was my favorite era of pop music bar none 💕

Some amazing music was written during that period - but one that still makes me uncomfortable a bit is 'She's a Lady' by Tom Jones. (eye roll)

Ikr? Like, he’s not even a horrible singer; he’s not great, but he’s technically decent. What makes him suck so much is the way his singing and stage presence are just always so over-the-top and hammy and bombastic to the point of total ridiculousness. I can’t even call it douchey, it’s just goofy! Lol, all I could think of was that scene in Flushed Away where Roddy acts like/pretends to be Tom Jones because Rita’s grandmother loves him. 😂
