I loved the description offered by the writer of this script - /u/ezy11

Background: the speaker and the listener have spent the last week or so on the run together from King Harold's men (as he unifies Norway). Thrust together by circumstance, they've quickly grown attached. They reached the safety of their Jarl's hall (pronounced Yarl) a few nights ago, but the entire village has been under near-constant attack ever since. Now the Jarl, with villagers in tow, has finally made it to the safety of the sea, and is making for Iceland. Our pair enjoy their first moments of alone time (sort of) since the ordeal began.

I'm all over that!

I love Viking history and culture, and was really happy to see someone write a script from that era that didn't focus on the violence usually associated with it. I even tried out a new accent - it's sort of Scandinavian, or my best approximation of it.

Enjoy!

I listened to this as a "double feature"...wow, what a way to celebrate International Women's Day. I love your sort of Scandinavian accent!

So much swoon in this "it's complicated"-to-lovers audio! All those feels and that subtle feminine charm that totally slipped past my oblivious giddiness to be cuddled up to a sweetheart on a cold night!

But whispery fantasy reveal and a helping hand...that's such a wonderful combination! Only made better by knowing that my lover enjoyed it just as much...

And that afterglow and the delicious anticipation of getting to the Iceland...longest six days ever!

    P.S. Gunnar startled me!

      haha that rascal Gunnar!

I really liked the creaky foley you added in the background; I understand it's the creaking of longship timbers/spars at sea, but it also brings to mind the sound the wind would make against the woven walls of a Viking house, like that one you showed us near the Botanical Gardens. I'm not familiar with real Scandinavian accents but yours sounds so convincing and immersive, drawing me as a listener deeper into the fantasy. The background noises, being covered beneath a great cloak, the imagined smoky orange glow of flickering torches/lanterns altogether, and of course the arousing foreplay painted for me a 'sexy-cozy' impression of this audio, like an intimate cuddle to close out the day. :)

Thank you so much for noticing! I had to create that soundscape by piecing together a lot of different sound effects, like I did for the second audio in the series. It's nice to know it's noticed and appreciated! ❤️

So I leave for a little bit, and come back to find this very, VERY intriguing fantasy. Guess I'll have to listen! downloads, queues for bedtime

EDIT: Surviving near-death experiences for a gods-given shot at new life and love? Methinks they'll be growing more than just crops at her new farmstead... XD

      haha methinks also! :P

As a Scandinavian, I have to say your accent was surprisingly good. Oh, and so was the audio, of course. ;)

Tack tack! (om du är svensk) :P

I'm Norwegian, actually. But close enough. ;)

OMG, I'm waiting for them to arrive to Iceland. The Eyjafjallajökull will have nothing on these two.

I love your "historical" recordings, and I love your accents, Eve, so this one was a special favorite.

Brave, determined and lusty makes for a great female companion on a longship. Or any other conveyance, in my opinion.

Thank you so much! I love these ones too, I've always been such a fan of the medieval/Viking world.
