    haha thanks Charlie - I think the 3Dio mic would make it easier to record and edit. As it is now, I have to mimic binaural by editing two tracks for each ear and trying to seamlessly blend them together. It takes a lot longer to do than most audios, this one took me all day. So a mic with that feature built in would be a breeze :)

      I've followed ASMR on YouTube since before it was a thing, and some of the backlash at sexualizing the phenomenon had come from the supporters of non-sexual performers who did not wish their work to be misconstrued as such. That's fair and legitimate, but ultimately I think it was the crassness of trolls and their harassing tactics that introduced much of the ill will towards the association of ASMR with erotica. It discouraged more than a few ASMRtists and led them to stop creating content and shutter their accounts. So, it was likely another case of a few rotten apples spoiling it for the many.

      Aside from that, the rest are from the usual unenlightened crowd that believes that sex is a filthy act to be shamed and secreted away.

        Yes, it's one of those areas I try not to venture into at all. Unfortunately a lot of my content gets taken without my permission and posted on ASMR forums, which leads to really vicious and insulting PMs. :(

          That's messed up & im sorry trolls try to come at you. I wouldn't worry about them cuz you don't owe them anything Eve. I have been attacked by some one a few mouth eating & kissing sound only ASMR videos. That's why i consider when you do these kind of audios a bonus & something out of the goodness of your heart.             Thanks Georgio - I think most people who don't do anything like erotic audio would be absolutely shocked and even traumatized by the sheer hatred and nastiness we performers receive on a regular basis. I just ignore it, but I'm aware it's out there, and it blows my mind that people can be so cruel.

          If only those forumites could see the greater context of your work and what you stand for... but then if they were hate-filled enough to fire off their verbal garbage to a total stranger on the Internet, there's no hope for them to ever come around.

          Wish there was more I could do to help out on the theft front. That Hypnovision Youtube channel with your stolen HFO audio just refuses to die despite my regular reporting of it - likely because it already has over 1.2 million misappropriated views. Reading some of the comments on that video gives me a rough idea of the hurtful things you see in PMs and it makes me sad because you are the last person this hate should be aimed at.

        I'll be honest, the first time I heard ASMR it was a nonsexual performance and the first thing I thought was, "People are getting off to this." I mean, isn't the act of whispering words into someone's ear with the intent of giving them "the tingles" innately erotic? Do nonsexual performers and their fans really not know that what they're doing is a turn on?

        Just to clarify, I am in no way trying to justify trolls or rude behavior. And I think it's cool to be into whatever you're into. I just think there might be some naivete or outright denial going on in the ASMR community.

        After rereading what I wrote, I realize I might sound a bit blunt, I don't mean to be. I just don't understand the root of the backlash.

          Personally, I think of ASMRtists as something akin to a masseuse. Most people in the massage therapy business don't aim to get their clients off while performing the service. Granted, massages have a lot of erotic potential, but context is key. Going to a spa vs your significant other rubbbing your neck/shoulders typically have very different implications... Unless of course you find yourself at Eve's spa ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

          Unfortunately a lot of people on who comment on YouTube (or lots of other places) don't have the maturity to recognize intent, so the second they see an attractive female making them feel good they resort to treating her like a piece of meat and making rude sexual comments.

          I'll admit some of the non-sexual content people make kind of turns me on, but then again I've also got a random boner while driving over a bridge with a lot of bumps. The human body is awkward in that way. It can't always tell the difference between two completely unrelated stimuli like sex and road turbulence. Uh where was I going with this.

          I don't believe ASMR is innately sexual. But, when put together it does make one hell of a combination. And to Eve, whatever you make, sexual or not, is always top-quality.

            A bit of trivia from the early days, Cashmeosawhowbowdah. The 'Mother of ASMR' on YouTube was an actual massage therapist named Lita. When she started a decade ago there was no such thing as ASMR. She was merely posting videos of her providing clearly non-erotic massage services to her (female) clients and viewers happened to latch onto how relaxing her voice was. The rest is history, so I thought your likening of ASMR-tists to masseuses was very apt considering its origins. :)

            I agree, I think there's a bit of 'I'm a purist' type stuff going on with traditional ASMR. There's also a lot of sex shame, and people are very quick to assume anything and everything has a 'perverted' purpose. It's not enough to just live and let live, I think they feel really threatened by the encroachment of sex into what they do.

            Your analogy of the masseuse is a good one - registered massage therapists have to go to a lot of trouble to make sure people separate them from massage parlours, respect them, and not expect them to be sexual. So I do understand the frustration.

            That's a fair point, intent does matter. No person should be subjected to rude or sexual comments and it should never be assumed that they want them. My problem lies more with the backlash against performers who do create erotic ASMR. If someone doesn't like erotic ASMR they should just ignore it and find something they like, not barrage the artist with hate mail, etc.

          My thought in general about where the defensiveness comes from is that there exists this fear that if they admit even the smallest sexual component to ASMR they will be stereotyped, and that what they do will become 'tainted' as a porn subgenre or fetish. Which all leads back to the societal negativism attached to sexuality that Eve's working to dispel. If sex were seen as positive by society at large, then there'd be less fear of association with it, and everyone would be free to just lie back and enjoy ASMR for the pleasant, and yes, even erotic, experience it can be. You're right in that there is definitely an element of denial about this in the community.
