Emma by Jane Austen: Chapter 1 part 1
Jane Austen is my favourite classic author, and her novel Emma is one of her wittiest, most charming works. If you've seen any of the film versions, you'll enjoy the book so much more; Austen's writing style and sly wit are a pleasure to experience!
Emma thinks herself a matchmaker, but she's terrible at it. Her misguided efforts make for a lively, spirited tale and a great love story.
I perform this with a British accent, in keeping with the setting of the novel. I think it's a nice, gentle story to help you drift off, too.
The version I'm reading from can be found on the Gutenberg Project site - a repository of countless classic and public domain books you can read for free.

Thank you! I started Pride and Prejudice (the first chapter is here on the site) but I felt like posting the Emma audios I've been recording as my warm up sessions.
