New Binaural Experiment - just a sample!

I'm just trying out a pair of binaural microphones/earphones I got (Roland CS-10EM if you're curious) with my good friend Mike Rifone, aka Sir Ound.

This is just an experiment to see how it sounds - it seems when I export the track as part of a movie in iMovie it makes it mono again. So here goes!

Let me know what you think 💋

Dear oh dear, this sounded absolutely delicious Eve. Little bit of background noise muffling things, but since this is just a test I'm sure the setup will sound great in a cleaned up audio. Very much excited about your partnership with Mr Rifone going forward!

      Thank you!

Seems like this will open up a lot of new possibilities for you. I can't wait to hear what you come up with, because I like what you did so far!

Thanks Billy, this is definitely a challenge to record. But hopefully I'll find ways to make it a bit easier.

This is awesome so far! Now I'm really curious to how an erotic audio would sound...

I saw your comment on the new one, I'm glad you liked it :)

First off, Hi Mr. Mike Rifone You'll find that Eve's Garden is quite the addictive place. It's nice to meet ya man lol 😁. Honestly Eve just 20 seconds of your voice is heaven. I think the audio sounds great in both parts of the microphone in my ears. The sound could be a tad bit clearer but besides that it was lovely. What kinda headphones we use to listen to these play a role too. However, I know you want things to be perfect sounding for you & us. For the mono thing you are talking about, you could try the program Audacity. You can edit the sound in whatever way you like & it's very easy to use. There's some great easy tutorials on YouTube for it. So you could type in what you want to do with your audio & I'm very sure there's a video for it cuz I have used it before on some old songs to make them sound better. Sorry if I'm not of much help in this area. I hope everything will become the way you would like. Just don't stress too much over it cuz you know we will love anything you make. Be well & I wish you a lovely weekend beautiful 🌷

I've listened to the 3Dio lots for over a year on YouTube, but I can't honestly detect much difference between this Roland setup and the 3Dio in terms of the of background noise and the binaural effect as you move around. If anything, 3Dio users making ASMR videos do things like lick, nibble, or kiss the polyurethane ears, and speak so closely into them it is very common to hear the plosive sounds, since the 3Dio doesn't have pop screens. Your test audio by comparison sounds quite clean in that regard.

Overall, and it's difficult not to be heavily biased in favour whenever it's your voice, I think the Roland CS-10EM sounds great! I remember wishing I had the pricey Roland LAPC-I sound card back in the mid-'90s for the point-and-click Sierra adventure games I enjoyed back then. You ask in this test if I like it. No, I don't...I LOVE IT! ❤️

According to Apple's marketing I am a 'boring PC-guy' so I'm afraid I can't offer any helpful tips on iMovie but I hope it doesn't give you too hard a time making it work.

EDIT: Forgot about Audacity editing for noise removal. Factoring that in, I'm sure this setup's going to sound better than most YouTube 3Dio videos. You dubbed him a knight too - perhaps Sir Ound can make a token cameo appearance in one of your future narrations of Le Morte d'Arthur? 😁

      hahaha, that's a great idea!

      "point-and-click Sierra adventure games"

      Leisure Suit Larry? 😅

      • CharlieRomeoLima on 2017-08-25 22:15:21 (UTC)

That was one of them, yes. I remember having to start that one over because I accidentally got Larry killed by a STD - it was like a "You have died of dysentery." moment from Oregon Trail.

King Quest, Police Quest, Monkey Island, Loom, Maniac Mansion, love them all. But Torrin's Passage holds a special place in my heart. I played that with the first woman I ever fell in love with. If I could go back to one point in time, that would be it. "My buns are burning, I need relief!" /sigh Trapped in my moment.
