I mentioned in one episode of Under the Covers with Eve that one of many numerous day jobs is writing romance novels. Many of you wrote in about this, curious as to what titles I’ve published etc, and while I prefer not to mix Eve and Eraudica too freely, I’m happy to present an as-yet unpublished novel in audio form, performed for you by the author…me :D

This book is actually Book 2 of a trilogy - I copied George Lucas’ style and just started things in the middle. At the end of this book I’ll perform book one and then book three, but for now, I hope you enjoy this little romantic caper I cooked up. (I'm going with the pen name Eve Elliot for this series, in case you haven't guessed ;p)

In a nutshell, it’s a military-themed book (although the characters are all ex-military) featuring a biomedically altered ’super soldier’, who is trying to recover his humanity after years of torture and abuse. She’s a doctor with secrets of her own, who has fallen in love with this virtually impenetrable man, and arranges for them to spend a week alone together at an isolated mountain cabin. She plans to ’sexually heal’ him, even if he’s not so sure about this love stuff.

And the sex is pretty hot, if I do say so myself ;p

Like most romance novels, this story is pretty over-the-top, I’ll be the first to admit it. But at its root, it’s about two people struggling to overcome their demons and allow love into their lives.

I hope you enjoy it.

I've been feeling spent and contented 🤗 after the powerful intensity of your last HFO recording, so I've been taking it easy and focusing on other things. Like beginning your apparently much acclaimed Stay With Me. Pride and Prejudice is my sole prior exposure to the romance genre, and that one so dated to Regency England at that. I'm on Chapter 2, and I am liking what I've 'read' thus far. As your previous readers have said, such an action-packed beginning, with your prose and diction lending a great sense of immediacy and presence to the unfolding events.

I'm well accustomed to the professional quality standards of your other audios, but even so your narrating skills still manage to surprise and impress! When you bring Erik and Nick's voices to life, the pacing and timbre of your delivery convey a sufficiently strong impression of masculinity that I can and do forget their lines are being read by an otherwise very feminine woman. :)

I wasn't expecting the writing to be so good. A fantastic opening, explosively setting the scene. Wonderful - almost lyrical...

Life is full of surprises. I never thought I'd find myself exploring a romance novel - and hooked on it.

This reminds me of when I used to listen to "A Book At Bedtime" on BBC Radio. The quality of content and presentation is as good as anything the BBC has ever done.

I wasn't expecting the action packed beginning! Such a intense, traumatic experience to share...no wonder she's going to swoon for her hero...

BTW, is "Alexandra" a busty, buxom beauty with a deliciously sexy voice that will melt Mr. Impenetrable's heart? And light his loins on fire? And did she perhaps spend any time as a nurse or a doctor in the ER? You know, treating patients with Viagra??? :P
